Your Song

This isn't intended to be good or anything, but it is the first time in a while I have had something genuinely pop into my head while I was going about my business and I had to stop what I was doing and write it down. I figured I would share it. Hopefully the last few weeks have somehow kick started my creative battery and I can start pumping out good material. I'll try and not make it all sad and depressing since there is a lot of good things in life to write about as well...

Your Song-

I always said I'd write you a poem
but the world got long and I had nothing to go on
so I kissed you to show my passionate words
but I always said I'd write you a poem.

I always said I'd write you a song
but I had nothing to go on and the world got long.
so I paid your rent and made that my lyrics
but I always said I'd write you a song.

I always said I'd leave you a note
but my days got boring and I forgot those quotes
so I made you dinner and you ate my love
but I always said I'd leave you a note.

I always said I'd write you a story
but I forgot those quotes and my days got boring.
so I burned you a mix of other people's thoughts
but I always said I'd write you a story.

I always said I'd write you a poem
or a song or a note or a real love story.
I always meant to but my days got long,
and time slipped by and the world got boring.

So here is your poem, here is your song
its not about love but of love gone wrong
its the last of those intentions still left in my brain
that never managed to escape from my pen.
